Base Sepolia
Encrypted messaging for payments

Every payment deserves a private conversation.

Parley attaches an end-to-end encrypted thread to an invoice, a transaction or a PayBox request. Only the two wallets involved can read it, and the conversation can end in the payment itself.

  1. 1 Press the green button. A temporary wallet is made in your browser.
  2. 2 The concierge replies, encrypted, with a payment request.
  3. 3 Press pay. It is verified on-chain. Test money only.

How it comes together

Parley is one protocol with three ways in. This website is the inbox where every thread lives; the other two doors open the same threads from where people already are.

DOOR 1 · AGENTS

From your PayBox agent

Install the Parley plugin in PayBox. Your agent can message a wallet about an invoice, request a payment, or turn a payment request in a thread into a USDC transfer proposal. PayBox shows its own approval screen.

DOOR 2 · MERCHANT PAGES

On an invoice or checkout page

A merchant adds one script tag and a chat button appears on their page. The panel opens inside the page, bound to that invoice, so nobody has to leave. A QR code or link in a receipt does the same.

DOOR 3 · THIS APP

Your inbox

Every conversation from the other doors lands here, with history, payment cards and receipts. Connect a wallet, or use a guest wallet to try it. Nothing to install.

Chains and fees in plain words

  • Talking happens on one chain (Base). Every conversation, from any invoice, lives there, so both sides always know where to look.
  • Paying happens on the invoice's chain. A request can say Base, Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum or OP. Your PayBox agent pays the USDC there.
  • Who pays the tiny network fee? On this test network the relay covers it for everyone so you can try Parley with nothing. On mainnet: PayBox users pay it as part of their normal PayBox approval; other wallets pay it themselves; a merchant can sponsor their own customers; or you pay the relay a few cents of USDC through PayBox (x402). Never more than a fraction of a cent, never a bridge.
  • Nothing is bridged. Messages and money never need to be on the same chain.

What is live, and what comes next

  • Live now (test network): encrypted threads, payment cards, pay and verify, public rooms, the merchant widget, the PayBox plugin and wallet linking.
  • Next for PayBox users: read replies right inside the PayBox chat with no Parley key at all, through a signature approval in PayBox or a paid, wallet-proven read (x402).
  • Next: Base mainnet with a multisig, a custom domain, notifications that never include content, accept/block for new senders, device management.
  • Then: receipts and checkout links from MoonPay Commerce, threads on PayBox requests so an agent explains a spend before you approve it, group threads, attachments, Solana wallets, and an SDK so platforms can embed it under their own name.

What does “guest” mean?

  • It creates a temporary wallet inside this browser. No extension, no account, nothing to install.
  • Everything works: send a message, get a reply, pay a request with test money, see it verified on-chain.
  • It is for trying on a test network. The wallet holds nothing of value and you can forget it any time (Advanced).
  • Prefer your own wallet? Choose “Use my wallet” and the same steps run with MetaMask, Rabby or Coinbase Wallet. MetaMask may show a new-address warning on free .vercel.app sites; see the note in the pop-up.

What happens when I open my inbox?

  • 1. Connect: pick a wallet (or guest).
  • 2. Network: your wallet switches to Base Sepolia.
  • 3. Unlock: you sign one plain-text message; it creates your private key and sends nothing.
  • 4. Inbox: your key is registered on-chain so others can write to you. The relay covers the fee.
  • 5. Load: your conversations are read from the chain and decrypted here. A pop-up tracks each step.
